C. elegans as model organism

We are a research team specialised in using Caenorhabditis elegans, a small soil nematode, as a model organism. Many of the genes and genetic mechanisms that govern our organismal and disease developments are shared in this species.

Bioproperties of natural compounds

A naturally derived bioactive compound is a chemical entity formed by a naturally occurring organism with biological properties. These compounds may contribute to vital drug discovery. We test a wide variety of compounds from botanic and marine sources for their potential pharmacological properties.

Clinical anatomy

We are perplexed by the beauty and complexity of the human body. Anatomy is among the oldest branches in medicine. Without thorough knowledge of the human body, diagnosis and treatment of diseases would be inconceivable. Our research is focused on human anatomical variations and their implications in clinical practice.
